Sally is amazing.  She actually<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vreseis.com\/sally_fox_story.htm\"> developed natural cotton that grows in different colors<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Just this week she visited my studio and we discussed some different organic yarn options. I&#8217;m excited about the possibilities.<\/p>\n<p>My interest in sustainability goes beyond working with organic yarns. I&#8217;ve also incorporated environmentally friendly and recycled materials into my eyewear and furniture designs.<\/p>\n<p>Working with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jofco.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jofco<\/a>, I created a totally green line of executive office furniture, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jhanebarnes.com\/fashion-furniture-carpet-news\/story=jofco&amp;year=2007\" target=\"_self\">\u201cTahke,\u201d <\/a>that was made from bamboo harvested by hand from a hillside in China where it is indigenous. Every detail \u2013 glue, hardware, veneer \u2013 was sustainable. In some ways, Tahke was ahead of its time. It launched in 2009 with a variety of styles. &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenmarkoptical.com\/FrameDetail.aspx?fid=311036&amp;nm=Redux%204\" target=\"_blank\">Redux 4&#8243; <\/a>is still available. The plastic temples are made from recycled plastic of many frames&#8230;hence the multi-colored speckle appearance. Each order is different depending on what colored material is reclaimed from the waste.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenmarkoptical.com\/FrameDetail.aspx?fid=311036&amp;nm=Redux%204\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-780\" title=\"Redux\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.jhanebarnes.com\/blog4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Redux-1024x655.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"524\" height=\"335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.jhanebarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Redux-1024x655.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.jhanebarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Redux-300x192.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As part of my ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, every Jhane Barnes collection frame is shipped with corn based demo lenses that break down into water and carbon matter, reducing waste.
